The Indian government, in recent years, has initiated a plan that has the potential to improve diversity in institutions of higher learning. The scheme’s name is ‘Inclusive Higher Education,’ and aims to ensure SEDG students get scholarships for colleges and universities.
The scheme is one of the ways through which the government seeks to ensure equality and diversity in education, especially in tertiary institutions, and right the social wrongs endured by minority groups. The scheme will provide scholarships, fee remission, bursaries, and other assistance to enable the SEDG students to finish their higher education successfully.
It shall also have training and capacity enhancement initiatives for the faculty and administrators to allow them to address the needs of the diverse student populations. Further, the scheme will set up diversity and inclusion cells in universities and colleges to tackle discrimination and prejudice-related concerns.
The plan will aid many learners from all over the country’s socially and educationally disadvantaged groups (SEDGs) to attain gender equality and equal opportunities for all in their undergraduate studies.
It is a specific method implemented by the authorities as they seek ways to create equal chances for success among all students within various learning institutions.
There exists an initiative that forms part of an array of initiatives that have been put by the authorities when it comes to changing our schools into better centers for learning and taking care of the overall development of a child.
