The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced the results for the CA Foundation and Intermediate examinations on October 30, 2024. Candidates eager to check their performance can do so by visiting the official ICAI websites, icai.org or icaiexam.icai.org. This year’s results have garnered significant attention, especially as the top ranks have been claimed by female candidates, highlighting a notable trend in gender representation within the field.

Leading the merit list is Parami Umesh Parekh from Mumbai, who achieved an impressive score of 484 marks in the CA Intermediate examinations. She is followed by Tanya Gupta, who secured the second position with 459 marks (76.50%), and Vidhi Jain, who rounded out the top three with 441 marks (73.50%). This dominance by female candidates is a promising sign for the profession, which has seen a steady increase in women participants over the years.

Former ICAI chairman Dhiraj Khandelwal took to social media platform X to celebrate this achievement, emphasizing the growing presence of women in the Institute. He noted that the female membership in ICAI currently stands at approximately 30%, and he is optimistic that this figure could rise to 50% within the next five years. Khandelwal highlighted the remarkable growth in female membership over the last decade, stating, “In 2008, there were only about 8,000 female members. By 2018, that number had soared to 80,000, and today, it has surpassed 125,000.” This trend underscores the evolving landscape of the profession and reflects the increasing opportunities for women in the accounting field.

In addition to the results announcement, Khandelwal reminded candidates about the importance of registering for articleship for the CA Final exams by October 31. He emphasized that students should have completed their Information Technology Training (ITT) and General Management Communication Skills (GMCS) courses before seeking articleship. This registration is crucial as it allows students to start their articleship early, ultimately saving them six months in their preparation for the CA Final examinations.

For candidates looking to check their CA Foundation and Intermediate results, the process is straightforward. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Visit the Official ICAI Website: Go to icai.org.
  2. Locate the Result Link: On the homepage, find the link for the CA Foundation or Intermediate result.
  3. Log In: Enter your registration number and roll number to access your results.
  4. View the Results: Once you have submitted your details, your CA results will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Download Marksheets: Candidates can download their Foundation or Intermediate marksheets for further reference.

In addition to the results, ICAI has also announced the examination dates for the January 2025 session. The Foundation course exams are scheduled for January 12, 14, 16, and 18, while the Intermediate course exams for Group 1 will take place on January 11, 13, and 15. Group II exams are set for January 17, 19, and 21. These dates give aspiring candidates ample time to prepare for their upcoming exams, ensuring they remain on track in their professional journey.

As the CA exams continue to be a significant milestone for aspiring chartered accountants, the results serve as a source of motivation for future candidates. The success stories of top performers like Parami Parekh not only inspire their peers but also highlight the increasing accessibility of the profession to women, paving the way for a more inclusive future in finance and accounting.

In conclusion, the release of the ICAI CA Intermediate and Foundation results has showcased a year of remarkable achievements, particularly among female candidates. With Parami Parekh leading the merit list, the profession stands at a pivotal point of transformation, promising a bright future for aspiring chartered accountants. As students prepare for the next stages in their careers, the support and infrastructure provided by the ICAI will undoubtedly play a crucial role in their development and success in the accounting field.
