Chinese smartphone giant Vivo is set to unveil its highly anticipated X200 series in India on December 12. The camera-centric lineup, which was first launched in China in October, consists of the Vivo X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Pro Mini. While the Pro Mini model is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, the X200 and X200 Pro will make their way to Indian shelves, showcasing advanced camera technology co-developed with German optics pioneer Zeiss.

Here’s a closer look at what the Vivo X200 series has to offer.

Display features

The Vivo X200 and X200 Pro boast high-quality AMOLED displays, promising exceptional visual clarity and smooth performance.

  • Vivo X200: Features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen achieves an impressive peak brightness of 4500 nits, ensuring vivid visuals even under bright sunlight.
  • Vivo X200 pro: Takes it up a notch with a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display. Its LTPO technology supports adaptive refresh rates for optimised power consumption, maintaining the same resolution and peak brightness as the X200.

Camera system: A photographer’s delight

Cameras are the highlight of the Vivo X200 series, featuring cutting-edge sensors and Zeiss-enhanced optics for professional-grade photography.

  • Primary camera: Both models include a 50MP Sony LYT-818 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), ensuring sharp, stable images.
  • Ultra-wide lens: A 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide camera adds versatility, enabling detailed wide-angle shots.
  • Telephoto options:
    • The X200 Pro boasts a groundbreaking 200MP Samsung HP9 telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom, catering to enthusiasts who demand high levels of detail.
    • The X200 features a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, offering solid performance for everyday photography.
  • Selfie camera: A 32MP front-facing camera on both models ensures crisp selfies and video calls.

Battery and charging

Both models offer robust battery capacities and fast charging options, aligning with the needs of power users.

  • X200 Pro: Equipped with a 6000mAh battery, it supports 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging, allowing quick top-ups for extended use.
  • X200: Packs a slightly smaller 5800mAh battery with 90W wired charging but omits wireless charging.

Performance and software

At the heart of the Vivo X200 series is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, delivering flagship-level performance. This is complemented by:

  • RAM options: Choose between 12GB and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM for multitasking prowess.
  • Storage variants: Available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB UFS 4.0 configurations, catering to users with varying storage needs.
  • Operating system: Both devices run on Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15, offering an intuitive and customisable user experience.

Durability and design

The Vivo X200 series also shines in terms of durability, with both models carrying IP68 and IP69 ratings. This ensures resistance to water, dust, and other environmental challenges, making them suitable for outdoor enthusiasts.
