Meta-owned WhatsApp has rolled out a nifty new feature that allows users to create and share entire packs of personalised stickers, offering a fun and highly customisable way to liven up your chats. The update is now live for both Android and iOS users and significantly enhances the platform’s existing sticker functionality.
Until now, creating custom stickers involved using third-party apps or tedious workarounds. But with this update, WhatsApp has seamlessly integrated sticker creation into the app itself, eliminating the need for external tools and making the process far more user-friendly.
Whether it’s a beloved pet’s photo, a funny selfie, or a quirky drawing, users can now turn their favourite images into stickers and bundle them into packs that can be named, saved, organised into folders, and sent in one go to friends and family.
How to create and share custom sticker packs on WhatsApp
- Open a chat – Start by entering any chat window within WhatsApp.
- Access the stickers menu – Tap the emoji icon on your keyboard, then switch to the sticker tab.
- Tap the pencil icon – You’ll see this icon on the right-hand side of the sticker section. This allows you to start creating.
- Select images for your stickers – Choose the pictures or designs you’d like to turn into stickers.
- Tap “Create Sticker Pack” – Found at the top-right of the screen, this lets you bundle your selected images into a named pack.
- Name your pack and save – Give your pack a unique name and save it.
Once saved, the new sticker pack will appear at the top of your sticker collection. Tap the three-dot menu next to the pack to access options such as Share, Edit, Rename, Send Individual Stickers, Remove, or Pin Favourite Stickers.
This is particularly useful in busy chats where users often struggle to find their favourite reactions or images. With the new system, they can simply organise stickers into relevant packs and access them at lightning speed.
Share the fun with entire packs
Previously, users could only share stickers one at a time—now, an entire pack can be sent with a single tap. Recipients can add your pack to their sticker collection, making it easy to spread memes, reactions, or even event-specific collections among friends, families, or group chats.
Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, planning a wedding, or just keeping an inside joke alive, the ability to share full sticker packs adds a new social dimension to the platform.
Enhanced chat privacy and group activity tools
In addition to custom sticker packs, WhatsApp has recently introduced other features aimed at both privacy and usability.
One notable addition is the online status indicator in group chats, which shows how many members are currently active. This makes it easier to judge the best time to post messages or questions and ensures that fewer messages get buried without notice.
Furthermore, WhatsApp’s advanced chat privacy settings have been upgraded. Users can now block others from exporting chat histories or saving shared media into their gallery. When enabled, this setting also prevents Meta’s AI tools from accessing or interacting within the chat—offering a robust layer of protection for sensitive or personal conversations.
A push toward personalisation
These features underline Meta’s push to make WhatsApp a more personalised and secure space for communication. With over two billion users globally, the platform continues to adapt to users’ growing demand for expressive and private forms of digital interaction.
Whether it’s through a silly sticker or enhanced privacy tools, WhatsApp seems committed to offering a more tailored and secure experience for its users—one chat at a time.
