Vivo and iQOO announce Android 15-based funtouchOS 15 rollout schedule

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo, alongside its sub-brand iQOO, has officially unveiled the rollout schedule for its upcoming FunTouchOS 15 user interface based on Android 15. Starting in October, users of the Vivo X Fold3 Pro and X100 series will be the first to experience the update. However, reports have emerged that some lucky users have already received the Android 15-based FunTouchOS 15 update, particularly on the Vivo X Fold3 Pro and iQOO 12 models, ahead of the scheduled timeline.

The new update is expected to bring a refreshed interface, improved system performance, and enhanced features such as smarter AI integration and better battery optimization. As Vivo and iQOO continue to innovate in software development, this rollout marks another significant step in their efforts to remain competitive in the global smartphone market.

Apple homepod with iPad-like display and AI features expected in 2025

Apple is planning a big leap in the smart home industry with the rumored launch of two innovative devices in 2025. According to a Bloomberg report, the tech giant is working on a next-generation HomePod that will feature a robotic arm and an iPad-like display, making it more versatile and interactive than the current models. This high-end version is likely to integrate advanced AI features for better smart home control.

In addition to this, a more affordable model is also under development. Both devices are expected to run on a new operating system that could be named homeOS. This upcoming smart home device lineup signifies Apple’s continued investment in creating an ecosystem that seamlessly integrates hardware, software, and AI to enhance the overall user experience in connected homes.

Google simplifies pixel buds pro 2 management across Android, Windows, and Mac

Google is continuing to enhance its ecosystem integration, especially for Pixel Buds users. With the release of Android 15, Google has introduced simplified noise control management for its Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel Buds Pro 2. Users can now control noise cancellation modes directly from the volume control menu in their smartphones, making it easier to switch between ambient sound modes and active noise cancellation.

In addition to these Android-based enhancements, Google has extended compatibility to other operating systems such as Windows and Mac. With this cross-platform support, Google is aiming to offer seamless audio experiences for Pixel Buds users across various devices, strengthening the integration between hardware and software within its ecosystem.

MacBook pro 2024: More RAM, USB-C Ports, and the M4 chip

Apple is preparing to introduce major upgrades with its upcoming MacBook Pro, expected to launch next month. According to a report by 9To5Mac, the 2024 MacBook Pro will feature the all-new Apple M4 chip, promising significant improvements in processing power and energy efficiency. Alongside this, the device is expected to come with more RAM options, increased storage capacity, and additional USB-C ports for enhanced connectivity.

The M4 MacBook Pro will likely debut alongside other Apple products, including a redesigned Mac mini, a new iMac, and select iPads. With these new upgrades, Apple aims to solidify its position as a leader in high-performance laptops for both professional and casual users.

Beats solo buds review: An old-school experience in a compact design

Beats has launched the Solo Buds, a compact, modern set of earbuds that deliver an old-school experience in terms of design and user control. These entry-level wireless buds are compatible with both iOS and Android, but they offer a somewhat limited set of features compared to higher-end alternatives.

The design of the Solo Buds is sleek and minimal, but some users might find the control scheme to be outdated, especially when compared to the touch-based systems on modern earbuds. Despite these limitations, the Beats Solo Buds offer good value for those seeking an affordable, straightforward option with decent audio quality.

Vivo X Fold 3 Pro gets Android 15 ahead of Google and Samsung phones

Vivo has set a new precedent by becoming one of the first smartphone manufacturers to roll out the Android 15 update. According to a report by Android Authority, Vivo’s FunTouchOS 15 user interface, based on Android 15, is now available on the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro foldable smartphone. This release puts Vivo ahead of tech giants like Google and Samsung, which have yet to release Android 15 on their flagship devices.

Meta launches Its ‘most advanced’ AR glasses: Are Smartphones obsolete?

Meta is pushing the boundaries of augmented reality (AR) technology with the launch of its most advanced AR glasses, codenamed “Orion.” These prototype glasses, which look like regular reading glasses, use holographic projection to overlay digital images into the user’s field of view through transparent lenses. The device allows users to interact with graphics and data without the need for a smartphone or handheld device.

While still in the early stages of development, Meta’s AR glasses represent a significant leap toward a future where smartphones may no longer be necessary. The technology promises to offer a more immersive, hands-free experience, and as development continues, it could potentially replace traditional mobile devices in certain applications.

In this week’s tech wrap-up, it’s evident that major players like Vivo, Apple, Google, and Meta are pushing the boundaries of their respective ecosystems, offering new innovations across smartphones, laptops, earbuds, and augmented reality devices. As we head into the final months of 2024, the tech industry shows no signs of slowing down, with exciting new developments just around the corner.
