Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about her overwhelming “exhaustion” during a recent birthday trip to Paris, just days after being rushed to A&E with fears she had developed a blood clot.
The former Love Island star, who turned 26 this week, had been holidaying in Dubai with partner Tommy Fury, 26, and their two-year-old daughter Bambi when she began experiencing “severe pain” in her leg during their return flight to the UK. Concerned about the potential for deep vein thrombosis, Hague contacted NHS 111 and was advised to head straight to hospital.
Speaking candidly in a new YouTube video posted over the weekend, the influencer and entrepreneur described the ordeal, saying: “Basically yesterday I thought I had a blood clot and half of today I thought I had a blood clot in my leg.”
She recounted how the pain, which started in her leg, soon spread to her knee and ankle, and at one point she began to feel numbness. After undergoing a full battery of tests, doctors gave her the all-clear, reassuring her that there was no cause for concern.
“They said that I’m completely fine, like all my vitals… my heart rate, blood test, everything was absolutely fine,” she explained.
Despite the reassuring results, Molly-Mae used her platform to urge others to take symptoms of blood clots seriously. “It needs to be taken so much more seriously because it can happen to anyone at any age,” she said. “Maybe I had one, maybe I didn’t. I read that blood clots can disperse by themselves… I was convinced I had one but the doctors fully checked me over and said I was fine.”
Not letting the health scare put a damper on her milestone celebrations, Hague jetted off to Paris shortly afterwards via private plane, joined by a group of close friends and her daughter Bambi. The aircraft was decorated with black and white balloons, a birthday cake, and even cardboard cut-outs of her own face – a lavish celebration in true Molly-Mae style.
She delighted her 7.8 million Instagram followers with snaps from the trip, including heartwarming moments at Disneyland Paris. One photo showed Bambi riding a carousel horse with the caption, “Mummy I want to go on my own horse,” while another showed the mother-daughter duo sitting cross-legged on the floor, cuddling. “The most perfect birthday eve,” Hague wrote.
However, the celebrations took a toll. In one photo, Molly could be seen embracing a friend at the theme park, her eyes noticeably red. “Eyes red from hayfever and exhaustion… but what a day,” she captioned it.
The trip marks another chapter in a whirlwind few weeks for the star, who recently reconciled with boxer Tommy Fury after reports of relationship troubles. The couple appeared happy and united during both the Dubai and Paris trips, with many fans pleased to see the young family together.
Hague, who has often been open about her personal life online, continues to balance the pressures of motherhood, influencer life, and business. As the founder of her self-tanning brand Maëbe, and a regular YouTube content creator, she’s no stranger to a packed schedule.
Her decision to share her health scare publicly has been praised by followers, with many applauding her honesty and vulnerability. “I do think it’s important to share it because you never really think it’s going to happen to you,” she said. “It does just feel like a bad dream what happened last night, so strange.”
Despite the scare, the star appears to be on the mend and back to enjoying life’s precious moments — albeit with a healthy dose of rest and recovery on the horizon.
