In this article, we discuss the symptoms of serious health issues like cancer, digestive problems, and irritable bowel syndrome. We will discuss medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms, as early detection and treatment can significantly improve outcomes.

A surgeon with the NHS, Doctor Karan Raj, has mentioned three critical health symptoms that require immediate attention from a general practitioner. Rapid weight loss without trying, a mole that is rapidly changing in size, shape, or colour, and changes in bathroom habits, such as constipation or loose stool, are all red flags that should not be ignored.

Rapid weight loss without trying can be a sign of many health issues, including mental health conditions, digestive problems, and cancer. It can cause type 2 diabetes, digestive problems, heart failure,  cancer, depression, and anxiety. These signs and symptoms should not be ignored. Dr Raj said:

“Rapidly losing weight without trying to – go to your doctor.”

A changing mole can cause skin cancer, while changes in bathroom habits can indicate bowel cancer or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), loose stool, constipation, tummy pain, a lump in your tummy, bloating, or feeling tired for no reason.

Dr. Raj emphasized that these symptoms should not be left without treatment, even if you feel otherwise healthy. Early detection and treatment are necessary for improving outcomes. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is essential to visit a doctor and meet with medical attention promptly.

The NHS and Cancer Research UK suggest seeking medical attention if you notice any abnormal changes in your body, such as unintentional weight loss, changes in moles, or changes in bowel habits. Don’t delay to visit your GP if you have concerns about your health. Remember, early detection can make a significant difference in treatment outcomes.
