Karachi University (KU) is planning to open a new dental and medical college. On Wednesday, during a meeting led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, this plan got initial approval, as stated in propakistani news
After approval, now the next step is to craft a detailed report justifying its feasibility and to hunt partners who can collaborate in making this college a reality.
During the meeting, the Syndicate (the group responsible for decision-making) reviewed and approved the minutes from a previous finance meeting which was held on December 29, 2023. They also said to revise the budget for next Fiscal year 2024-25 at the earliest.
Moreover, they gave the confirmation regarding the appointments of new chairpersons and directors for various departments and institutions. With this, they decided to promote temporary Assistant Professors to higher pay grades, BS-19, on two conditions

Furthermore, they allowed the faculty, staff, and employees to use the campus graveyard for funeral.
At the end, Professor Dr. Abdul Waheed – KU registrar was asked to review past decisions regarding non-teaching staff promotions and to present his findings at the next meeting.
