The PTI or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has gone to the court to get justice in an abduction case of a Kashmiri poet. The party’s leadership has nurtured concern over the case and the slow pace of the case, and the police’s inability to produce the abductee in court.
This case consists of kidnapping of a Kashmiri poet who unknown persons alleged to have kidnapped. His family has been begging the head of state to release him, and the government has never produced him in a court.
Likewise, the PTI has called upon the judiciary to step in and act promptly to ensure the safe recovery of the poet. The party’s leaders have also publicly condemned the government for not protecting the poet and his family. They have called on the government to act to protect the poet as well as the writer in this case.
The PTI‘s cry for help turns to the judiciary at the time when the nation is still facing the challenge of abduction or kidnapping. The party has, over the years, condemned the government for its poor performance in dealing with such instances, attributing to lack of protection to the victims and their kin.
The PTI’s call for the judiciary to intervene is perceived as contributing to the advancement of the case because it raises the need for the judiciary to become more assertive toward the safety of the poet and his family. The party’s call has been accompanied by similar sentiments by civil society and human rights groups to urge the government to secure the poet’s release.
