The world of technology saw several big announcements on September 26, from major product launches at Meta’s Connect event to the highly anticipated sale of the iPhone 15 series. Let’s dive into the top highlights of the day, including Meta’s vision for augmented and mixed reality, new budget smartphone launches, and updates from tech giants like Apple, Google, and Samsung.

Meta connect: Orion AR glasses, quest 3S headset, and more revealed

At the Meta Connect event held on September 25, Facebook’s parent company Meta unveiled a slew of new products, expanding its push into the augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) space. One of the event’s biggest highlights was the announcement of the Orion AR glasses, a prototype that enables users to interact with virtual elements without obstructing their vision in the real world.

In addition to the AR glasses, Meta introduced the Meta Quest 3S, a more affordable mixed reality headset that enhances the immersive experience by blending physical and virtual worlds. The company also showcased the latest features for the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, continuing to push its wearables forward.

Meta AI: New voice and image capabilities

As part of the Connect event, Meta also introduced significant updates to its Meta AI chatbot. Now equipped with voice capabilities, Meta AI can not only respond to text queries but also handle voice commands, making it a versatile assistant across Meta’s platforms. Moreover, the AI can now analyze and edit images, offering users a new level of interaction on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. These updates aim to integrate Meta AI more deeply into daily user experiences.

Flipkart big billion days: iPhone 15 series deals and discounts

For tech enthusiasts and Apple fans, Flipkart has kicked off its much-anticipated Big Billion Days sale for Plus members. The sale, which began on September 26, offers discounts, deals, and bank offers on the iPhone 15 series, including the discontinued iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. However, the most significant discounts apply to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, which have seen price reductions following the launch of the iPhone 16 series.

In addition to Apple’s iPhones, the sale features enticing deals on a range of other electronic devices, offering consumers an excellent opportunity to upgrade their gadgets.

Amazon great Indian festival: Smartphone offers for prime members

Meanwhile, Amazon is gearing up for its Great Indian Festival, set to start on September 27 for Prime members. The sale offers discounts, no-cost EMI options, and bank offers on a wide array of smartphones, including Apple iPhones and foldable devices from Motorola. Amazon’s sale includes up to 10% instant discounts on purchases made using SBI credit cards for both EMI and non-EMI transactions.

Lava O3 budget smartphone launched: Price and specifications

In the budget smartphone segment, Indian brand Lava has unveiled its latest offering, the Lava O3. Powered by the UNISOC 9863A processor, the phone features a 5,000 mAh battery and a stylish glossy back design. Available at a launch price of Rs 5,579, the Lava O3 comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It will be available in three color options—white, black, and lavender—starting September 27 on Amazon and the Lava e-store.

Apple M4 macs and ipads coming in october

Following the launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple is reportedly planning another product launch event in October. According to reports from 9to5mac, Apple is expected to unveil new MacBook Pro models powered by the M4 chip, along with a redesigned Mac mini and an updated iMac. The report also hints at the potential launch of the iPad mini and a new standard iPad. Apple’s expansion into these categories further cements its dominance in the premium computing market.

Google’s Gemini AI arrives on pixel buds

Google is also making headlines with the introduction of its Gemini AI to Pixel Buds. This rollout allows users to interact with Google’s AI assistant more seamlessly through their earphones. The Gemini AI is now available on the latest Pixel Buds Pro 2 and will soon be accessible on other Pixel Buds models. Users will need to ensure that the assistant is set as their default digital assistant on Android devices to access this new feature.
