Jagannathan, Founder of Star Health and Allied Insurance, have unveiled Galaxy Promise, the first offering from their newly established venture, Galaxy Health Insurance. This joint initiative aims to redefine health insurance in India with affordable, comprehensive coverage plans.

The Galaxy Promise product offers sum insured options ranging from ₹3 lakh to ₹1 crore, catering to diverse health care needs. The plans, categorised as Signature, Elite, and Premier, come with enhanced optional covers designed for families seeking economical yet extensive health protection.
With rising medical costs due to inflation, advanced treatments, and increasing demand for specialised care, the plans are tailored to mitigate such expenses. “Health care costs are growing at an annual rate of 10-15 per cent, and Galaxy Promise aims to address this challenge by offering dependable and proactive health solutions,” the company stated.

Galaxy Health Insurance, which secured its regulatory license in March 2024, positions itself as a standalone health insurer. The venture draws on the expertise of industry veterans and India’s largest standalone health insurer, Star Health and Allied Insurance.

- Unlimited Restoration of Sum Insured: Customers can make multiple claims within a policy year, with the coverage amount restored each time. This benefit is applicable even for recurring claims related to the same condition, ensuring comprehensive support for ongoing and new health issues.
- Fixed Premium Rates: Premiums remain fixed until the insured individual turns 55 or files a claim, incentivising long-term policy continuation.
- Extensive Coverage: Over 68 items are covered, including admission, record, and insurance processing charges. Additionally, room rent for standard, ICU, and digital ICU accommodations is included.
- Organ Donor Benefits: If an insured individual donates organs, they and their immediate family members (if policyholders) will receive a two-year premium waiver, a unique feature promoting altruistic acts.
- Advanced Medical Care: The plans cater to modern health care needs, including assisted reproduction treatments, in-utero fetal surgery, antenatal scans, and newborn care.
- Cumulative Bonus: Policyholders can earn up to a 500 per cent cumulative bonus on their sum insured, encouraging continuous coverage.
