Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is set to unveil its highly anticipated flagship, the OnePlus 13, globally in January 2025, with India being one of the key markets for its release. The smartphone will be available in three distinct colour options: Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn. The standout feature of the Midnight Ocean variant is its micro-fibre vegan leather back finish, offering a unique texture that enhances resistance to scratches and scuffs, making it both stylish and durable. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 will come with IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring robust protection against dust and water.

OnePlus 13: Launch Details and Key Features

Originally launched in China in October 2024, the OnePlus 13 is powered by the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising top-tier performance and power efficiency. Alongside the OnePlus 13, OnePlus is also expected to launch the OnePlus 13r, which will debut in China as the OnePlus Ace 5. The global launch of the OnePlus 13 is highly anticipated, with the device offering several notable upgrades over its predecessors.

Display: A Premium Visual Experience

The OnePlus 13 features a striking 6.82-inch AMOLED display with quad-curved glass protection, designed to provide an immersive visual experience. With a resolution of 3168×1440 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, users can expect crisp and fluid visuals, ideal for gaming, streaming, and general use. The display’s peak brightness of 4,500 nits ensures clarity even in bright outdoor environments, while Dolby Vision HDR support adds rich colour and contrast for an enhanced viewing experience. The device also incorporates an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for secure biometric authentication, offering a seamless and fast unlocking experience.

Camera: Hasselblad Partnership Delivers Stunning Photos

In the camera department, the OnePlus 13 boasts an impressive triple 50MP rear camera system, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad to deliver exceptional photo quality. The camera setup includes:

  • A 50MP Sony LYT 808 primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) for sharp, detailed images.
  • A 50MP ultra-wide camera, ideal for capturing expansive landscapes or large groups of people.
  • A 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, allowing for detailed close-ups and crisp zoom shots.

On the front, the OnePlus 13 features a 32MP camera for high-resolution selfies and clear video calls, ensuring that users look their best in every shot.

Battery and Charging: Fast Charging for an Enhanced Experience

Equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, the OnePlus 13 is designed to keep users powered throughout the day. This high-capacity battery uses OnePlus’s Glacier battery technology, which incorporates a silicon-carbon structure for improved energy density. The device supports 100W wired fast charging, allowing it to quickly charge from 0 to 100% in no time. Additionally, it features 50W wireless charging with magnetic attachment, offering convenience and speed without the need for physical cables.
