Wallace and Gromit return this christmas with vengeance most fowl: Full cast revealed

Wallace and Gromit fans, prepare yourselves for a cracking christmas treat! The beloved claymation duo is set to return this festive season with a brand-new feature-length adventure, Vengeance Most Fowl. Directed by the legendary Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, the latest escapade from aardman animations will premiere on BBC one and the BBC iPlayer at 6.10pm on christmas day, promising a delightful mix of comedy, chaos, and heartwarming moments.

Set in their quintessentially british world, the film finds cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his loyal canine companion Gromit facing two formidable foes. A mischievous “smart gnome,” born from Wallace’s penchant for quirky inventions, starts to wreak havoc. If that weren’t enough, their old nemesis Feathers McGraw returns, with a score to settle and chaos to unleash.

According to the official synopsis, gromit grows increasingly concerned about Wallace’s growing reliance on his inventions – concerns that prove well-founded when the “smart gnome” begins to display a sinister mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it’s up to the ever-reliable gromit to overcome his hesitations and tackle the looming threat. Wallace’s ability to invent – and their tranquil lives – hang in the balance.

With the anticipation reaching fever pitch, the BBC has revealed the all-star voice cast for this festive romp. Here’s a closer look at the familiar and fresh voices bringing these iconic characters to life.

Ben whitehead as Wallace

Ben Whitehead reprises his role as Wallace, the lovable northern inventor. Whitehead has been the voice of Wallace since 2010, succeeding the late peter sallis, though he had already contributed his vocal talents to the character in earlier shorts and games. Fans may also recognise him from other aardman projects such as Early Man and The Pirates! In an adventure with scientists.

Peter kay as chief inspector mackintosh

Peter Kay, the legendary comedian and actor, returns as chief inspector mackintosh, now promoted from his role as a constable in The curse of the were-rabbit. Known for his hit shows peter kay’s phoenix nights, max and paddy’s road to nowhere, and car share, kay’s comedic timing is bound to bring plenty of laughs to this festive caper.

Reece shearsmith as norbot

Reece Shearsmith, of Inside No. 9 and The League of Gentlemen fame, lends his voice to Norbot, Wallace’s latest invention. Initially a helpful creation, Norbot soon develops a troubling streak that escalates the drama. Shearsmith’s vast repertoire includes appearances in Doctor Who, Good Omens, and The World’s End, making him a perfect fit for the dark humour at the heart of this tale.

Lauren patel as PC mukherjee

Lauren Patel voices PC Mukherjee, an ambitious young protégé of Chief Inspector Mackintosh. Together, the pair attempt to unravel the mystery of the gnome-related disturbances. Patel, best known for her role in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, brings youthful energy to the character.

Diane morgan as onya doorstep

Diane Morgan, beloved for her portrayal of Philomena Cunk in Cunk on Britain and Cunk on Earth, plays Onya Doorstep, a spirited northern news reporter for Up North News. Morgan’s comedic credits also include Motherland and After Life, as well as her own BBC Two series, Mandy.

Additional cast

The supporting cast is equally impressive, featuring celebrated actors such as Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, Invictus), Lenny Henry (The Rings of Power, Three Little Birds), and Muzz Khan (Brassic, Galavant). As always, Gromit and the cunning Feathers McGraw remain characteristically silent, relying on their expressive animation to steal the show.

A perfect festive treat

Vengeance Most Fowl marks a triumphant return for the beloved duo, who have been entertaining audiences since their debut in 1989’s A Grand Day Out. Aardman animations, based in Bristol, continues to uphold its legacy of crafting heartwarming stories with distinctive humour and charm.

This latest adventure promises to deliver everything fans have come to expect from Wallace and Gromit: clever inventions, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of heart. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to their world, Vengeance Most Fowl is shaping up to be an unmissable Christmas event.

So, brew a cup of tea, grab a plate of Wensleydale, and join Wallace and Gromit for an unforgettable holiday evening this Christmas Day on BBC One.
