This Morning host gives a rare update on life after her marriage to the Late Late Show presenter ended.
Cat Deeley has broken her silence on how she and ex-husband Patrick Kielty are navigating life post-split, more than a year after the couple announced they were going their separate ways.
The pair, who married in 2012 and share two sons, Milo and James, confirmed their separation in July 2025 with a joint statement making clear there was no third party involved and asking for privacy as they continued to co-parent.
Now 49-year-old Deeley has spoken to The Sunday Times about how that co-parenting arrangement is working in practice, revealing that she and 55-year-old Kielty split childcare duties evenly and lean heavily on organisation — and help — to make it work, crediting her nanny as part of that support system.
Her This Morning co-host Ben Shephard, who now presents the show alongside her, offered his own reflections on watching the pair balance parenting through the split, drawing on his own experience of a difficult relationship with his father during his teenage years and how it shaped his understanding of parents doing their best under pressure.
The two now live largely separate lives geographically: Deeley is based in London, while Kielty splits his time between London and Dublin as he continues filming The Late Late Show. Shephard has previously nodded to the split on air, joking about the upside of never hosting alone.
The end of the marriage reportedly became clear to those close to the couple around the time of Kielty’s mother’s funeral, when Deeley did not attend. A source close to the situation told the Daily Mail that her absence at such a significant moment stood out given how close Kielty had been to his mother. A representative for Deeley later explained that she had stayed home to look after their two young children around the school day on that particular date.
