Ahead of the highly anticipated Consumer Electronics Show (CES) set to begin on January 7 in Las Vegas, Samsung has revealed its 2025 monitor lineup, showcasing innovative advancements in display technology. The new offerings span across several key product lines, including the Smart Monitor range, ViewFinity Monitor series, and the all-new Odyssey Series 4K OLED gaming monitor, boasting a remarkable 240Hz refresh rate. Here’s a closer look at the exciting new displays Samsung has introduced.

Samsung odyssey series monitors: A gamer’s dream

Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF Model)
The standout feature of Samsung’s Odyssey Series is the launch of the Odyssey OLED G8. This 27-inch 4K OLED monitor marks a major leap in gaming and content creation. With a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 and a stunning 240Hz refresh rate, the G8 promises ultra-smooth performance for high-speed gaming and creative work. Offering 165 pixels per inch (PPI), Samsung says the monitor delivers lifelike visuals, providing an immersive experience for gamers and creators alike.

In addition to its impressive specifications, the Odyssey OLED G8 features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support and is also NVIDIA G-Sync compatible, ensuring smoother visuals with minimal tearing and flickering. The Glare Free screen technology reduces distracting reflections, allowing users to focus entirely on their screen without distractions from ambient lighting.

Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF model)
For those who crave even faster performance, Samsung unveiled the Odyssey OLED G6, which boasts the world’s first OLED panel with a jaw-dropping 500Hz refresh rate. This QHD monitor (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) ensures an even smoother gaming experience, offering both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync support. The enhanced refresh rate and resolution make it a dream for high-level competitive gaming and fast-paced action.

Odyssey 3D gaming monitor (G90XF model)
A futuristic addition to the Odyssey Series is the Odyssey 3D gaming monitor. Samsung promises to offer a truly immersive experience with the 27-inch G90XF model, which features a lenticular lens and a front stereo camera. This monitor enables a customisable 3D experience without the need for separate 3D glasses. It’s an exciting development for gamers and content creators who want to experience visuals in a whole new dimension.

Samsung smart monitor M9: AI-powered innovation

The Smart Monitor M9 is another highlight of Samsung’s CES 2025 announcements. The M90SF model is the first monitor to integrate on-device artificial intelligence (AI). Samsung’s AI Picture Optimiser automatically adjusts the display settings based on the type of content being viewed, whether it’s movies, photos, or games. For gamers, the AI can detect the genre of the game and optimise the display for the best possible experience. Additionally, the monitor comes with 4K AI Upscaling Pro technology, which enhances lower-resolution content to near 4K quality, providing sharper visuals.

The Smart Monitor M9 features a 32-inch OLED screen with 4K resolution, delivering vibrant colours and deep contrasts thanks to VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. Additionally, it comes with a built-in 4K camera, enhancing video conferencing and content creation capabilities.

Samsung viewfinity S8: Designed for productivity

For professionals and productivity-focused users, Samsung introduces the ViewFinity S8, a new 37-inch display with 4K resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. This model is designed to maximise productivity and efficiency. At 34% larger than its predecessor, it provides ample screen real estate for multitasking. The ViewFinity S8 also covers 99% of the sRGB colour gamut, ensuring highly accurate colour reproduction, making it an ideal choice for graphic designers, photographers, and video editors.

The monitor is certified by TÜV Rheinland for an ‘Ergonomic Workspace Display’, which means it adjusts the colour temperature according to the ambient lighting in your workspace. This feature helps reduce eye strain and fatigue, making it suitable for extended use during long working hours.

Looking ahead to CES 2025

Samsung’s CES 2025 unveiling introduces cutting-edge technologies aimed at gamers, content creators, and professionals alike. From the blazing fast Odyssey OLED G8 with a 240Hz refresh rate to the innovative AI-powered Smart Monitor M9, these new displays reflect Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what monitors can do. The ViewFinity S8 also shows how Samsung is meeting the needs of those who require larger, more precise displays for productivity and creative work. As CES 2025 kicks off, these monitors are sure to be a focal point, setting the standard for the next generation of display technology.
