Donald Trump vows to tackle inflation and corruption at Pennsylvania rally

In a rousing public rally in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump reiterated his commitment to tackling inflation, rooting out government corruption, and advocating for working-class Americans. The rally was part of his ongoing campaign as a Republican presidential candidate, where he laid out his vision for the United States, emphasizing the need to make the country more affordable and safeguard free speech.

“We will defeat inflation, and we will make America affordable again,” Trump declared to a cheering crowd. “Together, we are fighting to secure our borders, end the endless foreign wars, and defend the working people of America… We are joining forces to defeat government corruption, to restore free speech, and to make America healthy again.”

Focus on energy independence

Trump outlined a detailed plan to revitalize the U.S. economy by transforming the nation into a leading global energy producer. He claimed that under his leadership, energy costs would be drastically reduced, with a promise that American households would see their energy bills decrease by 50 percent.

“We will make America the dominant energy producer in the world, by far! We have more liquid gold under our feet than any other country. And we will use it to reduce taxes and energy costs for our people. In 12 months, we will cut your energy bills in half—that includes heating, air conditioning, electricity, and gasoline,” Trump stated.

Support for IVF and infrastructure overhaul

During the rally, Trump also reiterated his support for in-vitro fertilization (IVF), proposing a groundbreaking initiative to either have the government or insurance companies cover the costs of IVF fertility treatments. “Yesterday, I also made a major new announcement: If I am elected this November, for the first time ever, your government will pay for, or require insurance companies to pay for, all costs associated with IVF fertility treatment. We want more babies to be born in America,” he said.

This statement follows his recent pledge in an interview with NBC News to protect access to IVF treatments if re-elected. He emphasized the importance of supporting American families and increasing the birth rate, framing it as an essential aspect of his broader policy goals.

Trump also took aim at the Green New Deal, a policy framework aimed at addressing climate change and economic inequality. He argued that the deal was contributing to wasteful spending and inflation. “We will cut wasteful and unnecessary spending—and we will terminate the Green New Deal and spend that money on roads, bridges, real infrastructure and paying down debt, not fake infrastructure that has caused massive inflation and no benefits,” Trump announced.

Economic policies and trade stance

The former president also proposed aggressive economic policies, including retaliatory tariffs against countries like China. “If China or any other country charges us a 100 percent or 200 percent tariff or tax, we will then charge them a 100 percent or 200 percent tariff or tax in return,” he said, positioning himself as a strong defender of American economic interests.

Trump vowed to repeal the Biden administration’s Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate and pledged to eliminate what he described as “job-killing regulations” imposed by the current administration. He painted a vision of an economy with “low taxes, low regulations, low energy costs, low interest rates, and low inflation,” which he argued would make daily necessities like groceries, cars, and homes more affordable for Americans.

Law and order and immigration stance

In addition to economic reforms, Trump laid out his plans to bolster national security and combat illegal immigration. “We will stop the invasion, end migrant crime, support our police, strengthen our military, build a missile defense shield all around our country—keep Critical Race Theory and transgender insanity out of our schools, and keep men out of women’s sports,” he said.

Expressing confidence in his chances in the upcoming election, Trump declared, “67 days from now, we’re going to win Pennsylvania, we’re going to defeat Comrade Kamala Harris… We’re going to make this country greater than it’s ever been.”

Criticism of Kamala Harris

Trump also used the rally as an opportunity to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of inconsistency on energy policies. “Kamala Harris surrendered our energy independence—She’s vowed repeatedly to ban fracking… Then she said ‘I’m in favor of fracking’—The people of Pennsylvania are smart. They will not fall for it. If you do not have fracking, you do not have a commonwealth,” he argued.

He concluded with a sharp rebuke of Harris and the media, saying, “[Kamala] can hide, she can lie through her surrogates and the corrupt media but the truth will win out. The American people are smart, they will not be manipulated by Hollywood, the fake news media and all of the advertising.”

As the rally ended, Trump made a final appeal to his supporters: “This November, we are going to tell Harris we have had enough.” With his eyes set on the presidency, Trump promised to execute the largest deportation operation in American history and restore what he described as American greatness.
