A Different Level of Evil: Maiming Animals Causes Satire of Eidul Azha

SURABAYA, INDONESIA - JUNE 17: A butcher slaughters a cow during Eid Al-Adha at Pegirian slaughter house on June 17, 2024 in Surabaya, Indonesia. Muslims worldwide are celebrating Eid Al-Adha, to commemorate the Prophet Ibrahim's readiness to sacrifice his son as a sign of his obedience to God, during which they sacrifice permissible animals - generally goats, sheep, and cows. Reported by Pakistan Today

A terrible crime was committed when a local landlord and five henchmen diced off the leg of a she-camel after she strayed into the landlord’s occupations and destroyed his yields, in the Sanghar district of Sindh. The poor animal was bolted to Karachi, where she is being stowed and where she will obtain a prosthetic limb. Police arrested the offenders, and Sanghar Police became more careful after the camel’s owner submitted the reports of being murdered., quoted by Pakistan Today.

It is not only cruelty towards a mate’s creatures. In Rawat, in Rawalpindi district, after vanishing for many years, a donkey’s ears were cut off.  That was not the only tale of man’s cruelty towards fellow creatures. The donkey’s owner blamed the enemy of the local era. This feud looks embedded in a land conflict, with the blame having conquered four of 13 cases. As they are relatives, the owner of the Donkey was blamed for having murdered the father of the blamed ear-cutter.  The law includes solutions for all dismayed, and it looks no need to go to animals, except under some misleading sense of causing the owner to grieve. The camel’s cutting leg is considered an offense of mischief, for which the punishment is a three-month sentence, apart from the civil remedy of suing for injuries. Sabotaging the camel, on the other side, accepts a five-year verdict, as does sabotaging or incapacitating any other animal valued more than Rs 50. Certainly, a donkey cannot be purchased for Rs 50 nowadays.

As these incidents coincidently happened along with Eid ul Adha is a parody of the the sacred day. We are conveniently alarmed that Islam has not adopted the easy ways out of Veganism and vegetarianism, but we must sacrifice with as little suffering for the slaughtered animal as soon as possible.  That such brutal crimes have been committed on animals to coincide with Eidul Azha is a mockery of the sacred day.

To drag out animals into human conflicts is not only brutality but also savage. As per the director of the NGO, that obtained the wounded animals from Sanghar said,, “This is a different level of evil.” There is a minor that can succeed in further crimes. This is the intuition behind cock-fighting and dogfighting, the latter of which is unsportsmanlike, but are famous rustic marks, as is bear-alluring. The offense must become odious through education and civilization. It should be remembered that one of the main things serial murderer do begins with animals, dragged off their wings.
