The Olympics will return to the beautiful capital of France a century after its last visit to the sports world, and now it is all abuzz with sports lovers from all parts of the world. So this is going to be most starkly different from the previous Olympic Games, with events and settings that light up Paris’s rich cultural heritage in a festive array of spectaculars. The opening ceremony will be a gala event, hosted at the magnificent Gardens of Trocadero with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop. A grand entrance like this is only setting an Olympic experience that will simply be historic, breathtakingly scintillating.

Participants will parade down the River Seine, adding an extra layer of romance and grandeur to the proceedings. Equally anticipated in this array of events is dressage, also known as ballet on horseback. Dressage is an elegant and precise horse discipline; hence, it is very interesting to watch. This time, it’s going to be all the more special for India since Anush Agarwalla will be the first one representing India in this category aboard his horse, Sir Caramello Old. The couple will dance to the pounding, upbeat anthem, “Jai Ho,” synonymous with victory and jubilation. Equally exciting is the setting for dressage—the Palace of Versailles. This historic palace will lend its grandeur to the spectacle that unfolds, befittingly so for a refined sport such as this. Agarwalla’s riding not only makes history in Indian equestrian sports but also lends newer dimensions to the international competition.

Will Anush Agarwalla and Sir Caramello Old perform to “Jai Ho” and bring exuberance and vibrancy to the very forefront of Indian victory at the Olympics? Only time will tell, but the anticipation foreshadows the bigger excitement that this year’s Games are evincing. This will be an Olympic edition for all those into sports that presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to merge athletic excellence with cultural splendor in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

As the Games unfold, so too comes the chance for fans to be part of something special in witnessing not just amazing athletic feats but the unique charm and beauty of the city of Paris in all its glory, making for a really special chapter in Olympic history.
