5 Years of Chhichhore: Shraddha Kapoor Shares Fond Memories of Sushant Singh Rajput and the Film’s Journey

On September 6, 2024, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor took to social media to celebrate a heartfelt milestone—five years since the release of Chhichhore. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the 2019 coming-of-age comedy-drama remains a fan favorite for its poignant storytelling and relatable themes. Led by the late Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor, the film also featured an ensemble cast including Tahir Raj Bhasin, Varun Sharma, and Navin Polishetty.

Marking the special occasion, Shraddha Kapoor shared some behind-the-scenes memories from the set of Chhichhore on Instagram, expressing nostalgia for the days spent filming. Alongside a series of lighthearted and touching moments, she penned a sweet note, “Woh din bhi kya din the,” paired with a red heart emoji, capturing the emotion of the moment. The post was quickly embraced by fans and co-stars alike, evoking a collective reminiscence of the time spent together.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

The clips and images shared by Shraddha provided fans with a rare glimpse into the camaraderie shared by the cast and crew during the filming of Chhichhore. The first video showed Shraddha striking playful poses alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The trio was seen in costume, enjoying their photo shoots and fully immersed in the vibrant energy of the set. Shraddha looked radiant in a yellow crop top paired with a green skirt, while Sushant donned a blue checkered shirt with black trousers, radiating his signature charm. Tahir, too, kept it casual in a sporty blue and white sweatshirt and blue jeans, complementing the laid-back atmosphere of the shoot.

Another picture in the post featured Shraddha walking with Sushant, a snapshot from what appeared to be one of the promotional events for the film. The actress also shared a heartwarming image of the cast and crew cutting a cake together, symbolizing the joyous moments that defined their time on set. In yet another photograph, Shraddha and Sushant are seen sharing a meal with other cast members, a candid moment capturing the off-screen bond that mirrored the on-screen friendships in the film.

The memories also included visuals of Shraddha in her role as Maya, Anni’s love interest and later wife, reminding fans of her charming performance that added warmth to the storyline. Each image served as a tribute to not only the success of the film but also the close relationships forged during its making.

Co-Stars Relive the Magic

Shraddha’s post was met with enthusiasm from her Chhichhore co-stars, who couldn’t help but relive the moments alongside her. Navin Polishetty, who played Acid in the film, referenced one of his iconic lines from the movie, commenting, “Akad pakad kheench ke pakad,” a line that fans of the film would instantly recognize. Varun Sharma and Tushar Pandey also responded, each dropping red heart emojis to signal their affection for the memories shared by Shraddha.

Even Nadiadwala Grandson, the production house that backed Chhichhore, joined in on the sentiment. Their official handle commented, “Throwback to woh din when we made memories,” reflecting the collective sense of pride and nostalgia surrounding the project.

Remembering Sushant Singh Rajput

While the post served as a tribute to Chhichhore‘s success, it also brought back fond memories of Sushant Singh Rajput, whose untimely demise in 2020 still reverberates throughout the industry. In Chhichhore, Sushant portrayed the character of Aniruddh Pathak, or Anni, a divorced father who almost loses his son, Raghav, after the latter fails to clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The film tackled important issues related to academic pressure, failure, and mental health, making it an emotionally charged narrative that struck a chord with audiences.

Sushant’s portrayal of Anni was celebrated for its authenticity and depth, further cementing his legacy as an actor who brought nuanced characters to life on screen. The film remains a testament to his talent, and Shraddha’s tribute serves as a reminder of the impact he left on both his colleagues and fans alike.

A Film That Resonates Beyond Time

Chhichhore was more than just a box-office success; it was a film that resonated with audiences across generations. Its themes of friendship, perseverance, and overcoming failure were universal, making it a timeless narrative that continues to find relevance today. As Shraddha Kapoor’s post showed, the memories of making Chhichhore remain as fresh and cherished as ever, not only for the cast and crew but also for the millions of fans who found solace in its story.

As the film celebrates its five-year anniversary, it is a fitting moment to reflect on the impact of Chhichhore—a film that brought joy, laughter, and lessons in equal measure, and a reminder of the enduring legacy of Sushant Singh Rajput.
