Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s Bold Reply to Trolls Criticizing Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and the Kapoor Family

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, the elder sister of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, recently addressed the incessant trolling of her family, including her brother and sister-in-law Alia Bhatt, with a composed yet savage reply. Her remarks came in the wake of her debut on Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives Season 3, where she won admiration for her poise, candidness, and impeccable style. However, the show also brought her into the spotlight for discussing the challenges her family faces behind the scenes.

In a recent interview with News18, Riddhima spoke openly about the negativity directed at her family. “People always find something to say,” she remarked. “They assume it’s all about privilege, but they don’t see what we go through.”

Challenging the Notion of Privilege

Addressing the widespread assumption that being born into a prominent Bollywood family equates to an easy life, Riddhima offered a nuanced perspective. She described true privilege as having a loving and supportive family, not material wealth or public recognition. “I am secure in my life. I have an amazing husband, daughter, brother, and sister-in-law. That’s privilege to me,” she said.

While acknowledging her family’s elevated social status, Riddhima emphasized that fame comes with its own set of trials. She dismissed online trolling as an inevitable byproduct of being in the public eye, stating, “People will judge; that’s just how it is.”

Criticism Amid Family Celebrations

Riddhima also revealed the hurt caused by trolls after her family was criticized for celebrating occasions following the death of her father, the legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. In a post-release interview with Galatta India, she said, “People will always find a reason to talk. Logon ka kaam hai bolna, bolenge.” She pointed out the hypocrisy of critics, who are quick to condemn but rarely offer praise when someone achieves something positive.

The Kapoor family has faced scrutiny for moving forward with their lives after Rishi Kapoor’s passing in April 2020. Riddhima explained that while they chose to honor his memory, life had to go on—a reality often misunderstood by outsiders. “Nobody knows the pain we’ve been through,” she said, adding that public judgment only amplifies the grief of those already struggling with personal loss.

Support from Alia Bhatt

Riddhima’s remarks echo a similar stance taken by Alia Bhatt, who has also faced her share of trolling. The actress was recently criticized for allegedly undergoing cosmetic surgery. Alia slammed the rumors through a social media post, calling them baseless. “What’s worse, you’re influencing young, impressionable minds who might believe this garbage,” she wrote, adding that personal choices should be respected.

A Glimpse Into Riddhima’s Life

Despite the negativity, Riddhima remains unfazed. Her debut on Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives, which premiered on October 18, 2024, gave viewers a glimpse into her life beyond the Kapoor surname. Starring alongside Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and others, Riddhima brought a refreshing authenticity to the show.

Her elegance and candid admissions were widely appreciated, but she also used the platform to shed light on the darker aspects of being in a high-profile family.

The Bigger Picture

Riddhima’s comments highlight the challenges of navigating public perception in the digital age. Celebrities, especially those from prominent families, often find themselves scrutinized for their choices, both personal and professional. While their lives may seem glamorous, the reality is far more complex.

For Riddhima, her family’s resilience in the face of adversity serves as a source of strength. “When you make a mistake, ten people jump on you immediately, but do they applaud when you do something good? Rarely,” she pointed out.

Moving Forward

As Riddhima Kapoor Sahni continues to balance her public persona with her private life, she remains a staunch advocate for her family. Her recent statements serve as a powerful reminder that privilege does not shield individuals from pain or judgment. Instead, it is the love and support of those closest to them that truly define their strength.

With her debut show earning praise and her candid interviews resonating with fans, Riddhima is carving her own identity while standing firmly by her family in the face of relentless scrutiny.
