Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has revealed that his father, former England footballer David Beckham, offered him a stern word of advice before he got behind the wheel of a high-speed Formula E race car for the first time.
The 26-year-old, who is the eldest son of David and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, recently took part in an exclusive racing experience, where he underwent intensive training before driving the powerful GEN3 Evo race car. The vehicle, which can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 1.82 seconds, was part of the Formula E Evo Sessions event.
A father’s advice
Speaking about his father’s reaction to his racing debut, Brooklyn said:
“My dad was just like, just be careful. But obviously, it’s (driving) something that me and my dad have definitely bonded over, over the years.”
“We’re both into cars, both into racing, so he was really excited. He just said, ‘Be careful. Be careful and have fun.’”
The two-day event, which took place at Miami International Autodrome from 5 to 6 March, saw Brooklyn trained by New Zealand professional racing driver Mitch Evans. He was one of 11 participants who were kitted out with personalised team gear, including a bespoke race suit and a custom helmet featuring their chosen race number.
A star-studded line-up
Brooklyn was not the only well-known face to take part in the adrenaline-fuelled experience. The event also featured Harry Potter actor Tom Felton and popular YouTuber Theo Baker, both of whom joined him in getting behind the wheel of the cutting-edge race car.
The entire experience was documented for a feature-length special, which is set to be released later this year, offering fans an inside look at Brooklyn’s high-speed adventure.
A birthday celebration like no other
Brooklyn’s participation in the event coincided with his 26th birthday on 4 March. When asked how he celebrated, he revealed that he kept things low-key ahead of his big day on the track.
“I went for dinner, and then I got an early night because I was racing.”
His dedication to the experience suggests just how seriously he took his Formula E debut.
Nicola’s reaction to his racing career change
Brooklyn also shared how his wife, actress Nicola Peltz Beckham, reacted to his high-speed venture. Initially, she was concerned about his safety, but once she saw him in full racing gear, her worries turned into admiration.

“She was a little bit worried, and then she saw me in my race outfit, and she was like, ‘You should do this as a job. You look really good.’”
After completing the experience, Brooklyn joked that Nicola’s reaction might have inspired a career change.
“But after she saw me, after I got out the car, she was like, ‘You look really sexy.’ So (I) might be changing careers.”
A journey through different passions
Brooklyn has previously explored several career paths, from photography to cooking. In 2017, he released a photography book titled What I See, showcasing his personal snapshots. More recently, he launched his own hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, and has shared cooking videos on social media.
While his interests have shifted over time, it remains to be seen whether motorsport could be his next big pursuit.

Brooklyn and Nicola, who tied the knot in April 2022, are one of the most talked-about celebrity couples of their generation. Nicola, the daughter of model Claudia Heffner Peltz and American billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, has made a name for herself in Hollywood, while Brooklyn continues to carve his own path in the entertainment and lifestyle space.
With his recent racing experience, Brooklyn appears to be embracing new challenges and pushing his limits. Whether he will seriously consider a career in motorsport remains uncertain, but for now, he is enjoying the thrill of the track – with his father’s cautious words still ringing in his ears.
