
Harare, Zimbabwe — A magnificent all-round performance led by Ishan Kishan powered India to a commanding 90-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club on Saturday, sealing the three-match series 2-0.
After being asked to bat first, India posted an imposing 219/5 in their 20 overs before bowling Zimbabwe out for 129 in 17.5 overs.
Kishan and Tilak Lead India’s Charge
India made an aggressive start despite losing early wickets. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed 20 off just nine deliveries, while Abhishek Sharma added eight before both openers departed inside the first three overs.
The innings was rebuilt brilliantly by Ishan Kishan, who produced a sparkling 81 from 44 balls, striking nine fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 184.09. The left-hander anchored the innings while maintaining an attacking approach throughout.
Captain Shreyas Iyer contributed a useful 25 before Tilak Varma took over in the closing stages. The stylish left-hander remained unbeaten on 60 off only 29 balls, hammering five boundaries and three sixes to propel India beyond the 200-run mark.
Rinku Singh chipped in with 12 from eight deliveries before Shivam Dube finished the innings with an unbeaten six off three balls.
For Zimbabwe, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Brad Evans and Brian Bennett claimed one wicket each.
Zimbabwe Collapse Under Pressure
Chasing a daunting target of 220, Zimbabwe began positively through Brian Bennett, who blasted 32 off 19 balls, but regular wickets prevented the hosts from building meaningful partnerships.
Ben Curran, Dion Myers and captain Sikandar Raza all fell cheaply as India’s bowlers tightened their grip on the contest.
Ryan Burl scored 20, while wicketkeeper Tadiwanashe Marumani fought with 24 and Brad Evans added a quick 19, but Zimbabwe never threatened India’s total.
The innings ended on 129, handing India a comprehensive victory.
